Anoectochilus Black Swan Aurea
🌿 Anoectochilus Black Swan Aurea | Rare Jewel Orchid for Sale in Canada
The Anoectochilus Black Swan Aurea is a jewel orchid, a group of terrestrial orchids grown above all for their foliage rather than their flowers. This aurea selection is sought after by collectors for the golden, creamy-yellow tones that frame its leaves.
The plant shown is a young specimen with rounded, gently scalloped leaves: olive-green centres edged with a clear creamy-yellow margin, on a reddish-brown stem. A delicate, compact piece for a terrarium, a plant cabinet or a rare plant shelf.
🌱 Features
- 🍃 Rounded leaves with softly scalloped edges
- 💛 Creamy-yellow aurea margins visible on the plant shown
- 🫒 Olive-green leaf centres that contrast with the golden edges
- 🟤 Reddish-brown stem
- 💎 A compact jewel orchid for collectors and terrarium lovers
☀️ Care Guide
- Light: low to medium, indirect light. Jewel orchids are forest-floor plants; avoid direct sun, which can quickly scorch the leaves.
- Watering: keep the substrate lightly and evenly moist, never soggy. Water as soon as the surface starts to dry.
- Humidity: high humidity, ideally 70% or more. A terrarium, plant cabinet or humidity dome works very well, with some air exchange.
- Temperature: 18°C to 26°C (65°F to 79°F). Keep away from cold drafts and cold windows in winter.
- Substrate: a light, airy, moisture-retentive mix (for example sphagnum moss with perlite or fine bark).
- Adjustment: after arrival, keep the plant in stable, humid conditions and avoid repotting for the first couple of weeks.
- Feeding: a very diluted fertilizer occasionally during active growth.

🌿 Important Live Plant Information
Every plant is unique, and so is the way its variegation unfolds. Each leaf has its own pattern, and once your plant is home, how its variegation develops will depend on the environment you give it: light, humidity, temperature and care. Future leaves may show more or less variegation, and variegation on new growth cannot be guaranteed. Like all live plants, it can react to transport and to a new environment. Jewel orchids are sensitive to dry air and sudden changes, so stable humidity is the key to a smooth adjustment.
