Each leaf has its own pattern, and once your plant is home, how its variegation develops will depend on the environment you give it: light, humidity, temperature and care. Future leaves may show more or less variegation, and variegation on new growth cannot be guaranteed. Like all live plants, it can react to transport and to a new environment. Losing an older leaf during the adjustment period is normal for Alocasia; healthy roots, a firm corm and an active growth point are the best signs of a thriving plant.
