Light Requirements

• Indirect Light: Alocasia Baginda ‘Silver Dragon’ Variegated thrives in bright, indirect light. It requires a balance between too much and too little light.
• Ideal Conditions: Place near a north or east-facing window with filtered sunlight. Avoid direct sun, as it can scorch the leaves, especially the delicate variegated parts.
• Variegation Sensitivity: Variegated plants need slightly more light than non-variegated varieties to maintain their coloration.

Watering• Moderate Moisture: Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.
• Watering Frequency: Water when the soil starts to dry, typically once a week depending on your environment. In winter, reduce watering frequency.
• Humidity Needs: Alocasias prefer high humidity. Maintain at least 60% humidity for optimal growth. Use a humidifier or place the plant on a pebble tray with water to increase moisture levels.
• Overwatering Caution: Avoid letting the plant sit in soggy soil, as Alocasias are prone to root rot.

Temperature

• Tropical Conditions: Alocasia ‘Silver Dragon’ prefers temperatures between 60°F to 80°F (16°C to 27°C).
• Avoid Cold Drafts: Keep the plant away from cold windows, air conditioning vents, or any cold drafts. Prolonged exposure to temperatures below 55°F (13°C) can cause leaf damage and dormancy.

Shipping

All plants are shipped with their roots wrapped in Sphagnum Moss, and plastic wrap to retain moisture for the root system. Foliage is then wrapped in a soft material, and then the whole plant is wrapped in isolation paper to secure the plant from movement in the box. Upon arrival to your home, check the roots for any signs of damage or rot. If rot appears, trim the affected roots with clean scissors or pruning shears, and plant into the new pot with the above specified growing media. We recommend waiting a day to water your new plant after repotting, as this will reduce the risk of root rot. Please note that yellowing or browning leaves could occur in transit.
