☀️ Light

Provide bright, indirect light. Bright conditions encourage vibrant coloration while protecting the foliage from sunburn.

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day.

Grow lights are highly recommended, particularly during the Canadian winter months.

💧 Water

Keep the substrate evenly moist while allowing the upper portion to dry slightly between waterings.

Never allow the roots to remain waterlogged, as Alocasias are sensitive to excess moisture.

💦 Humidity

Thrives in 65–80% humidity.

Higher humidity promotes healthy growth, larger foliage, and optimal leaf development. Good airflow is equally important.

🌡 Temperature

Maintain temperatures between 20°C and 28°C (68–82°F).

Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 18°C (64°F).

🌿 Substrate

Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix containing orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, and horticultural charcoal.

The plant also adapts well to semi-hydroponic systems such as Pon when properly established.

🪴 Fertilizer

Feed every 2–4 weeks during active growth using a balanced fertilizer at half strength.

Reduce fertilization during the winter months or whenever growth naturally slows.
